Lower Flags Oct. 4 in Memory of Fallen Firefighters The law requires the American flag be lowered in tribute on only a few days each year. Very appropriately, one of these days is the observance of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, this year, on Oct. 4. New Cancer Screening Guidelines for Women Challenged The recommendations made public last week concerning the overuse of mammograms are way off the mark. The data they used looked at deaths and determined that not enough women died so why have an annual mammogram. Vote No July 9 The Old Saybrook property revaluation has worked as planned. Some homes went up in value, a few went down and many stayed about the same.
